Foxes on film
Capel’s Mill near Waitrose is one of our flagship sites, nestling beneath the arches of Stroud’s distinctive viaduct and bisected by both the Thames and Severn Canal and the River Frome.
We’ve done an awful lot of work down there over the years, with our wildlife pond, willow arches and accessible picnic table all proving popular with workers taking a lunch break and people coming to Stroud for a break.
Our volunteers head down there regularly to maintain the area for biodiversity, with project officer Fred Miller at the helm, and a couple of volunteers visit the area regularly to keep it free of litter and dog mess.
Thanks to our friend Tony Chalk at Cotswold Canals Connected and our faithful volunteer Alpana, we now have a wildlife trail camera on the site, recording the non-human visitors who also enjoy the space.
We will be posting videos taken from the camera on our YouTube channel, and here is the very first bit of footage for you to enjoy… don’t blink, though, or you might miss the action!
