Supporting our community, people and nature.
How We Can Help
Stroud Valleys Project are a small local charity who can bring a big environmental impact to your farm with their expert team and large number of enthusiastic and hard-working volunteers. We can provide expert advice and a volunteer work force for the fraction of the cost of industry consultants, in a variety of conservation areas to support the environmental and biodiversity aims of your farm, including:
-
We can help you plan and establish hedgerows and woodland that connect habitats and support wildlife to thrive. From choosing the right trees for the right places to identifying funding opportunities and trusted suppliers, we offer practical guidance to help your planting project succeed, with advice on long-term management to ensure it flourishes for years to come.
-
We can help you manage water sustainably and prepare your land for hotter, drier summers. From creating ponds and exploring water storage solutions to improving soil health through composting and mulching, we offer practical advice to help your land retain moisture, support wildlife and become more resilient to climate change.
-
We can guide you in creating and managing wildflower meadows that support pollinators, increase biodiversity and bring colour and life to your land.
-
We can offer advice on managing riverside, canal and wetland habitats to encourage wildlife and improve ecological health. From enhancing habitats and supporting native species to identifying and managing invasive non-native plants, we can help you care for these valuable ecosystems.
By working with SVP you will also be working at the heart of the Stroud community, with local volunteers helping to bring positive environmental changes to your farm.
