Join us for a peaceful women-only evening walk along the Stroudwater Canal, celebrating the flowers, wildlife and quiet beauty of this special urban nature corridor.
Led by Wild Stroud, an organisation dedicated to protecting and enhancing Stroud’s urban wildlife corridors, this guided walk explores the rich wildlife of the Stroudwater Canal. From wildflowers lining the towpath to birds, insects and other canal wildlife, you’ll gain a fresh appreciation of the nature on your doorstep.
At the end of this walk, you’ll know where to look and which apps you can use to help you identify, insects, birds and flowers.
This first walk starts at Stroud Brewery (and finishes there too, if you have time to stay afterwards). This gentle circular walk lasts around 1 hour and 15 minutes. We’ll follow the canal before climbing to easy paths running parallel to the water, then loop back down to the towpath.
Please wear sturdy shoes and bring waterproofs in case of rain, along with a drink. A torch is recommended for later in the evening, although we don’t expect to need it.

This is a Canal Reflections event from Cotswold Canals Connected and Stroud Valleys Project, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
