About us

People and nature, thriving together

Founded in 1988 to protect the industrial heritage of Stroud and its five valleys, Stroud Valleys Project has established a reputation for working on effective, person-centred projects with local community groups and volunteers. Our aim as a charity and campaigning organisation is to support people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities to connect with and nurture green spaces to keep people and nature thriving together.

We want to…

  1. give as many people as possible the opportunity to take practical action for the good of our community and the environment, taking local action with global impact

  2. provide a friendly and inclusive space where people feel welcome to play a part in improving our environment to help with the crisis facing nature and the climate

  3. support local people, communities, businesses and organisations so they feel empowered to take action that works for them as local and global environmental challenges intensify
