Insect Survey at Holywell Orchard

Tuesday 10th August, 1pm to 3pm

Think that insects are just creepy crawlies? Think again! Insects are a very useful indicator of the health of our environment and the most common species are quite easily recognisable. Denise Gibbons, an SVP volunteer, will run a workshop on insect identification and conduct a survey which will help us to build up a picture of what wildlife is thriving thanks to the existence of this green jewel, Holywell Orchard. We will be using sweep nets and explore the insect types living in the grass and low trees and bushes. This event is not suitable for very small children.

Cost: £3/adult, £2/child, or £2/adult, £1/child for SVP Friends

Meeting place: The entrance to Holywell Orchard wildlife site in Bramble Drive, off St. George’s Road, Cam
